Our Team

Below are the profiles of our incredible trustees who keep us accountable in what we are doing and keep us going in the right direction.

    Rev Phil Starbuck

    Founder

My career began as a professional footballer with Nottingham Forest under the legendary Brian Clough. I was privileged to play in all four divisions in the English domestic leagues as well as the premiership in Holland. I now own a successful building company. For the last 20 years I have been involved in Christian ministry at leadership level. I am married to Claire and have 5 children and 1 granddaughter. I enjoy reading, eating out with Claire and travelling.

        Claire Starbuck

        Trustee

Claire is married to Phil. She is a mother and runs her own business. She has been a Christian for six years and has a heart to reach the lost, the poor and the hurting. Claire brings a different flavour to the trust with her creativity and attention to detail. She enjoys spending time with her family, eating out with Phil, going for walks with the dog and the occasional holiday.

            Rev Dave Holmes

            Chairman

Dave is a senior minister at New Springs City Church, Loughborough. He and his wife Alison have two children – Bridie and Sam. Dave grew up in a coal mining village in Derbyshire, and qualified as a miner – in fact, a mechanical engineer. He later worked for Castrol Oils as an engineer. It was whilst here that David and his wife Alison felt God’s call on their lives to move to Zimbabwe as full time missionaries. After several years they returned to England to pastor a church in Alfreton, Derbyshire. As well as this he worked alongside his brother in developing a large social enterprise project which has become a national model for social entrepreneurship and community involvement. David is a gifted, anointed singer, has a clear pastoral gift and is a qualified counsellor. As far as hobbies are concerned, David cites entertaining, good food, walking, reading and football. He is a Liverpool F.C. supporter.

Liz loves spending time with her very patient husband and two sons, especially their trips to Cornwall. She loves spending time with friends to share food and fellowship, a good book or her knitting. For Liz, life is people and helping others know they are loved and cared for – just following Jesus’s example.
